Wednesday 24 February Wowzers!
Not only are we just leaving a GREAT month behind but we're heading into what may well be Exposure Leeds' busiest month.
At the start of the February we had wonderful presentations on post-shoot matters and then last weekend the Street event was amazing. Why not visit the Flickr group and see what we were up to?
Just to give you an idea of how busy we are - here's the schedule for the next few weeks...
And then you'll receive a new mail telling you about Tim Parkin at the next monthly and hopefully at least one other new event!
But, for now, let's put some detail on the list above...
Back to top Danny North at Exposure Leeds
What a double-edged sword success is! I'm very happy to say that we are now theoretically full for the Danny North talk. Everyone who registered will receive an email in the next few days. If you didn't book, you'll be welcome on the night - but we may, unfortunately, have to turn some attendees from the talk. Reservations will 'expire' before the event starts - allowing us to offer unclaimed seats.
Latest updates (and any returned 'seats') will be posted in the Flickr group (you might want to watch Twitter too).
Back to top Simon Young portraiture training
I'm very happy to announce that Exposure Leeds members have been offered a 10% discount from a weekend's training from Simon Young, who gets excellent testimonials from any number of photographers - including Jay Mawson
(who spoke to us in late 2009). Read more.
Back to top Kirkstall Abbey People Project
13th March + additional dates | We've been approached by Leeds Museums and Galleries (who are providing the bulk of funding for this project) to commence a project recording how people use Kirkstall Abbey
in the 21st century - dog walkers, families, archeologists, gardeners, bat specialists and stagehands alike... delegates will be among the first to have their work loaded onto Leeds' new Microsoft Surface computers. Read more/sign up...
Back to top Leeds Photo Portraiture Event
Following on from the huge success of the street event - we are running our second in the series. A single day conversation around the subject of portraiture - with delegates of differing experience, genres and styles coming together to discuss the basics of approach, style, effectiveness as well as some technical chat. We'll be going back to basics to see how to get the best from a sitter with minimal kit - a camera and a reflective surface.
Sign up and come along - we're sure you'll learn some, enjoy some more and make new contacts!
(Don't wait too long - to keep it friendly and open we keep the numbers down!)
Back to top Enough for you?
Wow - what a month! Which idiot agreed to do all this in the same month?
Well, before I sign off - don't forget James and I are still busy pulling together the forthcoming magazine - if you get invited to get involved, please do.
So - see you at one (or more) of these events!
Have a great March!
Jon
